New York Is Great at Any Age!
New Yorkers know that there’s no greater city on earth, and most wish to continue to call the five boroughs home as they age. The following local resources can provide assistance with a variety of needs for New York-based caregivers and seniors alike.
- NYC Department for the Aging: As an agency of city government and an Area Agency on Aging under the federal Administration on Aging, DFTA offers numerous resources for seniors in New York City.
- Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens: Catholic Charities offers resources, assistance, and older adult programs to seniors in Brooklyn and Queens.
- Alzheimer’s Association – NYC Chapter: The New York City chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association provides free information, confidential assistance and support for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as for their family members, caregivers and professionals.
- NYC Elder Abuse Center: NYC Elder Abuse Center (NYCEAC) was launched in 2009 to improve the way professionals, organizations and systems respond to elder abuse, neglect and financial exploitation.
